SURPRISE |
|
The latest AZB4K Newsletter has been posted on their website www.azblankets4kids.com under the What's New tab. There is lots of good reading in it about the charity bees and groups that have sewn for AZB4K over the past year. You'll easily find the Peace by Piece Quilters on the front page! |

If you took a minute to read the new AZB4K newsletter (see paragraph #1) you may have been confused by the Peace by Piece group picture displayed. You may have thought... When did they take that? and... Where was I? That photo was taken a long time ago. It is a reminder of how much our group has changed. Appears as though it's time to take a new group picture!

VISITORS ALWAYS WELCOME We had a surprise visitor drop by our March bee. Linda Thompson, an Air E Vac pediatric nurse. She shared with us how important our quilts are to the E Vac nurses and the little patients that receive them. When a call to transport is received the E Vac nurse will always grab a quilt to take on the flight. One touching story in particular she shared with us was about a normal call that came in. On her way to the chopper she was compelled to grab two quilts instead of the usual one quilt. Once arriving on scene she discovered the call was for twins. I don't know how she found us but I'm glad she did. |
BEE
REPORT

|
At the March bee we completed 29 child/teen quilts and 1 cute little preemie. We filled the quilt shop with 17 FUN loving volunteers, had a surprise visitor (see paragraph #3) and lots of yummy sweet treats. At the end of the day, after many people had left, a conversation began about the number of quilts we had finished that day. That lead to the question, "How many tops were made?". Which led to the question, "Would you like to have that information shared in the newsletter each month?". The answer was, "Yes!". So, during the March bee there were 25 tops made.
