IT'S ALMOST GONE...

Articles written by people living in other parts of the country keep saying, "summer is almost gone". I even read something yesterday that said, "cooler fall temperatures are in the air". Yesterday the thermometer on my back porch didn't tell a story of cooler temperatures. It read 114 and today was no better at 113. I just keep telling myself...

SPEAKING OF GONE...

Our World Traveler, Bonnie, is also well traveled around computer sites and she has taken some donated items that we couldn't use and turned them into PBP cash. She listed those donated sewy things on E-Bay and raised $70! Those things are GONE out of the PBP closet and the $$$$ will certainly help out with our flannel and batting needs.

OTHER THINGS JUST KEEP COMING...

Do you remember last August... (Yep it was hot then to, that's about all I remember about it) Remember??? I told you about a Special lady named Carol? She came to visit us at one of our bees that month and left us with a HUGE pile of quilts... 102 to be exact! This year Carol visited us again... and brought 72 quilts! She makes every one herself and to date has donated 516 to AZB4K. What a generous gal.

BOOK CLUB...

Some new titles have been added to the Peace By Piece Quilters 'It just Kinda Happened Book Club'. They will be at the 35th Ave bee for you to take home and read. Reading is a great summertime activity.

35th AVE SEW & VAC

The 35th Ave Sew and Vac August bee proved to be a COOL bee day. Those Holiday themed quilts (and a couple of fans) really do encourage COOL feelings. A total of 16 COOL quilts were completed that day. 1 little Preemie blanket and 15 Child/Teen size quilts were done.


CUTTING EDGE QUILTWORKS Another COOL day was had at the August Cutting Edge bee. The total finished quilts for the day was 24. There were 9 Preemie blankets and 15 Child/Teen size quilts made. The Accu-cutter queens (Nina and Linda) spent the day making some FUN new kits for your sewing pleasure.

The Maricopa County Quilt Shop Associations annual Shop Hop is September 18 - 26. Nine shops are participating. This years Grand Prize is a Bernina 230 White Pearl sewing machine. We need love and creative imagination to do constructive work. ~Paula Ollendorf~

AZ BLANKETS 4 KIDS HAPPENINGS...
The Arizona Blankets for Kids annual Quilt Camp was held on August 14, 15, and 16. This COOL annual event is held in the Arizona mountain country. It is always enjoyed by all who attend. The next AZB4K bee is scheduled for October 17 at the Chandler Police Department. Check the AZB4K website at www.azblankets4kids.com for information on all of their upcoming event.

September 3rd is the next PBP be at 35th Ave Sew and Vac in Chandler. The kit suitcase is loaded with new Accu-cutter kits for you to try out.

And then we'll be at the Cutting Edge Quiltworks on September 17th for another day of sewing these FUN new kits.
