Fall 2010

I just learned about a guy who lives in a home that is a mere 100 square foot. Really? His home is complete with a seating area for entertaining and a kitchen complete with sink, stove, frig, microwave and can even seat 4 for dinner. There's the necessary shower and toilet and a loft that accommodates sleeping and storage. Pretty unbelievable, isn't it? Another thing that I find unbelievable is that it's October already! AND the the month is almost over!! Which means it's almost November!!! Really?

EVERYONE NEEDS MO MONEY!!!

To make mo quilts for children in our community we need mo money. So the ebay expert among us (aka Bonnie) did her thing and listed a couple of our quilts on ebay. Bidding has closed and we'll soon learn how much money was raised. If you were one of the bidders I hope you got the quilt. If you did please bring it to the bee so we can all touch it in hopes some of your luck will rub off on us.

  BOOK CLUB...

A few new books were recently added to the 'It Just Kinda Happened Book Club' collection. You don't want to miss the opportunity to spend some quality time with them. They will be at the bee anxiously waiting for someone to pick them up.

  BEE REPORT...

We've had two bees since the last newsletter. A sewing bee and a kit making bee.

In August we had a sewing bee where  17 Child/Teen quilts were completed.

The September sewing bee was cancelled due to the Valley of the Sun Shop Hop. The Cutting Edge quilt shop gets pretty darn crowded if we are in their making quilts when shop hoppers arrive. So instead we spent the day at the PBP stash closet making kits. We made 33 kits! The really BIG news about the day is that we USED UP SOME SCRAPS!

Some interesting results from the 2010 Quilting in America survey shows the quilting industry is a $3.58 billion industry. The average quilter in America is 62 years young. The part you'll want to share with your husband is that a dedicated quilters owns $8,542 in quilting tools and an average of $3,677 worth of fabric!

AZ BLANKETS 4 KIDS HAPPENINGS...

AZB4K Fall Bee was held October 2 at a NEW VENUE in Chandler. Haven't yet heard how much FUN they had. Maybe someone at our next bee will share the experience with us.
