 WHAT'S BEEN GOIN' ON ???

  Well, the New Year came in like a rocket for the Peace By Piece Quilters. Even though we haven't had a bee since October that doesn't mean there weren't Peace By Piece things that needed to be done. It's been a busy, busy, busy time and I've got lots of new information to share with you. 

As I sit here thinking of all the things I have to share, words like WOW and AMAZING come to mind. And I think...Peace By Piece has EXPLODED! Since my last newsletter less than two months ago many things have changed. 2007 is going to be very different for Peace By Piece Quilters and yet still the same in many ways. 

A new Peace By Piece Quilters chapter is about to begin.

 WHERE TO START ???

In the November newsletter I shared with you that I was patiently waiting to hear from the Pyle Center. They were in the process of developing their 2007 schedule and we were on their list of applicants eagerly wanting to use their facility in 2007. In this case NO NEWS was not the sign of GOOD news. Turns out the Pyle Center cannot accommodate our bees in 2007. As you know, in the past finding a facility to hold our monthly bees has proven to be a real challenge for the Peace By Piece Quilters. But as you also know, Peace By Piece has always met all it's challenges head on with full steam. 

SO THE HUNT WAS ON...

The Peace By Piece Quilters first mission of the New Year was to find a new place for monthly bees. Again the awesome Peace By Piece volunteers went into action. Phone calls were made and emails were sent out in search of a suitable facility. And again we met the challenge. We not only found ONE new home but TWO!!! 

That's right TWO!

WHAT DOES THAT MEAN ???

Well...TWO places means TWO bees !!!!

 Yep, you read that right. 

In 2007 the Peace By Piece Quilters  

will be having TWO bees every month. 

My, My we are going to be busy.

WHERE  AND  WHEN  ARE ALL THESE BEES ???

WHERE ?

The Westside Multigenerational/

 Boys & Girls Club at 715 W. 5th St

 in Tempe and 

Sally's Fabric store at 1235 E. 

Main St. in Mesa.

WHEN ?

Bees will be held on the 

1st Friday and 4th Thursday

of every month.

HERE'S All THE DETAILS...

 If you look on the Peace By Piece Quilters 'Calendar' page you'll find I've added all the new bee dates for 2007. So set yourself in a comfortable chair with that pretty new 2007 calendar in front of you. 

Oh, and you'll need a sharp pencil...or two.   

Cuz there's a whole lotta bee dates for you to fill in on your calendar.  22 in all. 

You'll also find that we've added a 'Maps' page to help you find your way to the new bee locations.  

ONE MORE THING...

 In 2007 you'll find bee time has changed  slightly. Bees will start at the usual 10:00 but we will have until 4:00 to finish all those quilts. Sometimes the 3:00 stop time of years past rushed volunteers and didn't allow enough time to take those last few stitches needed. The new stop time will let all the stitches be taken before cleanup begins. As before, we'd love to have you come and sew with us as little or as long as your schedule allows. 

WHAT ELSE IS GOIN' ON ???

Valentines Day! That's what will be goin' on before you know it! Which means the Peace By Piece Quilters have got to get busy making Valentine quilts. And then there's that lucky holiday, St. Patty's day. And ya can't forget Easter with all those springy colors. Hmmm... You'll need quilts with red hearts, all shades of green and lots of springy colors. Denise and I have been busy making kits and we've got ya covered. We've made LOTS of preemie Valentine kits and several crib size quilt kits using Springy colors. And at the next couple of bees you'll find a pile of perfect St. Patty green fabric for anyone interesting in kit making at the bee.

A RECAP ...

So have you got all that? On the 1st Friday of every month we'll be holding a Peace By Piece Quilters bee at Sally's Fabric store on Main St. in Mesa. And on the 4th Thursday of every month we'll be holding a Peace By Piece Quilters bee at the Westside Multigenerational Center/ Boys & Girls club on 5th St in Tempe. There's been a new 'Maps' page added to the web site to help you find our new bee locations. And the bee time has changed to 10:00 - 4:00.   

     That's a lot of stuff!   

THE BEGINNING OF A 

BUSY YEAR...

So as you've read 2007 brings a lot of changes and is going to be a busy year for the Peace By Piece Quilters. We've got a lot of bees ahead of us with the first one just around the corner on January 25 and a second bee just a week later on February 2.
