LET THE NEW YEAR BEGIN

Well, another year has come and gone.  2012 is here.  This past year has been a memorable one for Peace by Piece Quilters.  We made a total of 413 quilts in 2011.  That is something a bunch of quilters can be very proud about!  We have been welcomed into a new home that is BIGGER, and some think even better, than any space we have ever sewn in.  This great new home is allowing us to grow with more volunteers attending the bees every month.  

LOOKING BACK

The Peace by Piece Quilters was born in January 2004, although we didn't have a name until June 2004.  It took four months to collect enough fabric and find a space to hold bees.  Our first bee was held on April 22, 2004.  Nine people came to that first bee, two of which still attend bees today, Doreen Kotsovolos and Nancy Blackburn.  We completed 6 quilts that day and a total of 58 by the end of that year.  This month marks eight years of quilt making and a total of 3,118 quilts made.  We have called 7 places home.  We made our presence know to the world by getting a website on the Internet in July 2004 and the first newsletter was published in August 2004.  Last month 26 people came to the bee.  That's more attendees at one bee than at any other bee in the 8 year history of Peace by Piece. 

 

  BEE REPORT   

 

 

 

 

The Peace by Piece bee on December 1 was a FUN-filled day.  We did something we've never done before, had a potluck!  There were lots of dishes filled with awesome eats that resulted in BIG smiles and happy tummies. WE also did some quilt making and a pile stacked with 30 quilts was the result, 4 of those were Holiday themed.  Surely those brightened the spirit of a child this Holiday season.  

 

If a ruler is missing from your sewing room please check the cutting table at the next bee.  These things like to go on field trips where other quilting tools are but they do like to go home with you at the end of the day.

AZ BLANKETS 4 KIDS HAPPENINGS
