THE FIRST PARAGRAPH

If you're a long time reader of the monthly Peace by Piece newsletters you've probably noticed the newsletter always carries the same information... just updated from one month to the next.  We've always got last months bee report, AZB4K updates, Duke's Corner (our newest addition), ect.  The one thing that fluctuates is the first paragraph, the one you're reading NOW.  It never has the same topic.  It's whatever is on my mind, sometimes it's a current event in the world or in my life, a project, a thought, something I'm thankful about or wanna complain about.  And sometimes it's about you or something that happened at the last bee.  It's not unusual for me to spend a couple of days pondering what I'm going to share with you.
Here I am writing the newsletter a couple of days later than normal... haven't had a chance to ponder what I want to share with you... and no creative juices flowing (for me writing a newsletter is much like designing a quilt, they both take creative juices).
So this month is all I've got to say is... I got nothin'.
If there's a topic you'd like to see in this paragraph of future newsletters
send me a email and let me know what it is.

     BEE REPORT

During the May bee volunteers completed 27 comfort quilts.  Also completed were 37 tops that will soon become comfort quilts.  We did have raffle items at the May bee and our Raffle Queen (aka Nina) did write the amount raised on a little piece of paper that I unfortunately lost before I wrote it in the book (that "book" is my Peace by Piece Brain).  Because I didn't write the amount in my brain I can only tell you that we had raffle items but I have NO IDEA how  much was raised.  Now, I always share that amount with you during Show N Tell, so if anyone remembers what the amount was please share it with me.
We received a large donation of cotton fabrics at the May bee and received a much needed donation of flannel fabrics since our last bee.
There will NOT be a FREE table available to volunteers at the June bee so if you were planning to bring items to be included on the FREE table please hold onto them until the August bee.

DUKE'S CORNER

Duke here.  The fabric scraps you sent my mom home with last month kept her busy making pet beds for shelter dawgs, she took over 40 beds to PCACC, that makes my tail wag uncontrollably.  She had those things loaded up and on their way before I even got a chance to test them all out!  I did manage to get a snapshot of the last of the heap before she got them loaded.

My mom will be at the June bee so bring your scraps.  I'll make sure she's got the car's cargo area empty; ready for all your pet bed scraps.
Until next time... puppy hugs & kisses.

 QUOTES & TIDBITS

Have you ever wondered...

Why is it that people say they slept like a baby, when babies wake up like every two hours?

OR

Why do people pay to go up in tall buildings and then put money in binoculars to look at things on the ground?

OR

Why is it that no matter what color bubble bath you use the bubbles are always white?

JUST FOR GRINS

Do you ever wonder where all the Just for Grins  stuff I share with you comes from?  Often times it comes from people like you who share it with me via email, so I guess you could say... it just appears.  When something shows up that I think will make readers GRIN I stow it away in my Just for Grins folder for future useUsually I try to use something that represents the current month, like a holiday, current event, maybe a topic elsewhere in the newsletter or the theme of that months newsletter.  Sometimes I have to go out looking for stuff if I don't have anything suitable in my file of Just for Grins  stuff.
So far this newsletter doesn't have a theme, there's no holiday and no particular topic is popping out at me.  I'm not coming up with any current events that we can GRIN about.  Which leads me to ask the question what's going on in June?  Well... it's HOT... may brain doesn't work right when it's hot.  How about the fact that it is traditionally wedding month?  That'll work!

Here's your June Just for Grins.  Click this link and it will take you to a GREAT WEDDING VIDEO.

Peace By Piece Quilters

UPCOMING BEE

Thursday, June 5 is the next Peace by Piece Quilters bee.  Several volunteers went home from last months bee with kit-kits to cut so I'm sure we'll have a basket full of kits to sew.  I've been working like crazy putting kit-kits together so they'll be plenty for those that like to cut at the bee.  And, of course, there's a pile ready for binding.  If you would like homework supplies please click on the Happy Face below to send me an email.

Peace starts with a smile.
