SUMMER VACATION

Remember when you were a kid and you spent your whole school year wishing for 'Summer Vacation'?  Thinking of all the FUN you were going to have... playing with friends... sleeping in... NO homework or studing for tests.  Well, right now, it's that time of year.  The kids have all started SUMMER VACATION.
Are you thinking... 'Why is she talking about Summer Vacation?  I haven't been in school for decades!'  Here's the answer... The Peace by Piece volunteers are going to get a mini Summer Vacation!  How's that you ask.  Well, the bee will be closed in July, NO BEE.  And no bee means vacation... At least in my little world it does.
Now, I know as the decades have past we've become... more set in our ways.  And we don't like change like this cuz then we have to figure out something else to do with our time.  Don't panic.  I'll have solutions for you... something to help you fill the time.  Like cut kit-kits, sew tops together, quilting cute tops, and maybe even some stuff to bind.  I've got you covered... and you can even do it your PJ's!

 

 

BEAUTIFUL WOOD QUILT WALL BAR FOR RAFFLE!

 

At the May bee we offered opportunities for one lucky volunteer to win this BEAUTIFUL WOOD QUILT WALL BAR!  We will be offering opportunities to win it again this month.

The winning tickets will be drawn this month!   Winner must not be present to win, but you do have to buy a ticket to win.  We'll even let you buy a bunch of tickets to increase your odds of winning. 

This quilt bar is designed to hold your quilt (or textile) firmly and with even pressure across the entire width of the quilt. Your quilt will be held securely between the two pieces of wood as it hangs from the wall.

 ~Due to a shortage of kit-kits (only 6) a few volunteers got together last week and played in the Peace by Piece Christmas fabric stash.  They made 16 Christmas kits and 23 Kit-kits.  These volunteers were so inspired by the Christmas stash that they took some home.  So more tops, kits and kit-kits will be showing up at the bees in the next few months.

~The supply of Peace by Piece Quilters and USA flag labels has been restocked.  The supply is now 1,000 strong.

~Peace by Piece Quilters will NOT hold a bee in July.  This allows volunteers to enjoy time celebrate the independance of our country with those important in their lives.

 

           BEE REPORT 

 

 

 

During the May bee...    

~ We completed 24 quilts!
~ 55 tops were sewn together.
~ The raffle items raised $31.
~ A special raffle for a BEAUTIFUL WOOD QUILT WALL BAR was started last month (see paragraph #2).  Tickets were available during the May bee and will be available again during this months bee.
  This quilt bar is designed to hold your quilt (or textile) firmly and with even pressure across the entire width of the quilt. Your quilt will be held securely between the two pieces of wood as it hangs from the wall.

What you'll find at the June bee...

~ The kit-kit supply has been restocked with Christmas kit-kits.
~ The kit basket has many kits that includes some Christmas kits for your sewing pleasure.
~ There is a stack of quilts layered and ready for quilting/tying.
~ There are currently 76 tops in the Piece by Peace closet waiting to be quilted/tied.

Happy Memorial Day and puppy hugs & kisses to all who have been in the military and have relatives & friends who have served.

Mom made us wear our patriotic holiday scarves... ok, only I like wearing a hat more.  lol

She's been working on the outside part of the pet beds and is ready for more scraps.  She is planning on making a pet bed delivery to the shelter in July.

Have a relaxing weekend. Dad's going to BBQ and we know what that means......  My pals and I are drooling already just thinking about all of the goodies on the grill.
