MAY.  MAY?   MAY!

April is only with us for a couple more days.  It is truly amazing how fast time goes by.  This new year has brought the Peace by Piece Quilters many new and positive things.  A BIG beautiful new space to sew in.  A new way to raise funds to provide us with batting AND enrich the stashes of volunteers.  Lots of new and returning people who join us every month, or as often as their busy lives allow.  Since our April bee six interested people have asked to be included on our mailing list.  WELCOME everyone.  We look forward to having you join us for many FUN sewing bees.

SEWING MACHINES NOT REQUIRED

During a fabric buying trip to a local quilt shop a few weeks ago Diane W. was given a donation of several bags of fabric.  If your sewing machine would rather stay home from the bee this month please come without it cuz we are going to have a station set up for sorting that donated fabric into like colors and themes. It is an opportunity for you to play with that new color scheme you've been wanting to try by putting interesting color combinations together into kit-kits.  Speaking of kit-kits... Victor and Sharon spent some time with the Peace by Piece scraps this month and they were able to put 15 kit-kits together.  We will have a station set up for quilters to hone their rotary cutting skills by cutting all those kit-kits into kits so they can be sewn.

For those of you that don't know the Peace by Piece Quilters lingo... a kit-kit is all the fabrics and a pattern put together into a neat little package.  Someone that wants to hone their cutting skills will then cut the fabric you've chosen into the correct sizes and number of pieces according to the pattern directions.

  BEE REPORT

The April Peace by Piece Quilters bee proved to be another busy day with 36 child/teen quilts completed and 2 little preemies made their way into the pile.  We also put together over 2 dozen tops!  The April bee fundraiser raffle raised $40 for your batting fund.  Nina will have 3 more quilty things at the next bee for you to buy $1 chances to win.  You can buy a whole tote bag full of tickets to increase your chances of winning the things that will work very nicely with a current project that needs a little something extra or fit perfectly in your stash.  So don't forget to bring your piggy bank!

A door peep hole gives a great perspective of your quilt before you sew your blocks together... should probably use it BEFORE you install it in the door.

God help me!  I've entered the Age of Skirted Swimwear.  This is the age right after Accessorizing with Reading Classes and a few years before Can't Name Anyone on the Radio.
