HYGIENE DRIVE

During our March and April bees we participated in the Mission del Sol Hygiene Drive by collecting hygiene items.  This is a biannual event that we also participated in last year.  All items donated are distributed by the Kyrene Foundation to qualifying underprivileged families in need within our community.  Mission del Sol and the Kyrene Foundation are full of gratitude for our participation and have sent a letter that you can read by clicking HERE.

BEAUTIFUL WOOD QUILT WALL BAR FOR RAFFLE!

Win this BEAUTIFUL WOOD QUILT WALL BAR!  This quilt bar is designed to hold your quilt (or textile) firmly and with even pressure across the entire width of the quilt. Your quilt will be held securely between the two pieces of wood as it hangs from the wall.

Tickets will be available at the next two Bees.  A lucky winner will take the quilt bar home in June!

There is a special promo going on at the May Bee.  Mention that you saw the picture with Greg in the newsletter and you will receive 2 chances for the price of 1 for this fabulous quilt bar!

Most quilting show n' tell items have a Vanna helping to display items but we have a Manna.

~Mission del Sol has a new sign on the entrance door of Mission Hall stating ALL visitors must go to the main office before entering the building.  This does not apply to Peace by Piece Volunteers on bee day.

~A few volunteers got together after the April bee and played with the Peace by Piece fabric stash of Halloween fabrics.  They made 8 Halloween kits and 11 Kit-kits.  Look for these new additions at the bee. They promise to be a FUN project to work on.

~The Peace by Piece Quilters label supply has grown low.  New Peace by Piece Quilters and USA flag labels have been reordered but will not arrive in time for our May bee.  Once the label supply has been completely depleted quilts will be completed without our label.  Barring any production issues by the manufacturer labels will arrive in time for our June bee.

~Peace by Piece Quilters will NOT hold a bee in July.  This allows volunteers to enjoy time celebrating the independence of our country.

DUKE'S CORNER

Hi everyone!

Today was a good day for delivering a car load of beds to the animal shelter.  The gang and I gave them one last inspection before mom loaded them up.

While mom was at the shelter, a young boy and his mom were just completing the adoption of a large, very happy dog and it just happened that there was an X-large bed in the mix.  There was another fellow there just starting the paperwork and he, too, will receive one of the beds.  YAY!  The nice people at the shelter are now sending a free bed home with every critter going to their new, forever home.  Is that awesome or what?

Since mom still has bags and bags of scraps, she won't be taking any home with her from the May bee, but, will have some empty plastic bags for you all to take home and fill up for the next time she does accept scraps.
