TIME TO EAT !!! The EATING season, commonly known as the "Holiday" season, has arrived in America. To get this much loved season started off right the Peace by Piece Quilters will be having a November PotLuck lunch. Last month we discussed the idea of having a November PotLuck instead of our usual December PotLuck. By December we all have so much Holiday STUFF going on we thought November may allow us to have a less stressed potluck. So bring your favorite dish to share with others. We have access to the church kitchen so keeping food refrigerated and/or heating dishes is not a problem. Paper serving products will be provided. This is suppose to be LESS STRESS so if fixing a dish STRESSES YOU OUT just bring your smile and we'll let you eat from the many offerings that are sure to be available. In the spirit of EATING Kay R would like to share her favorite Zucchini Pineapple Bread recipe with us, Pssst... This is the delicious bread she has brought to the last couple of bees. Click HERE for the recipe. It's YUMMY STUFF!

The October bee Show n' Tell at the end of the day was very impressive with 67 quilts on display for Ohhh's & Ahhh's. During the bee volunteers also made 27 tops which are looking forward to becoming lovable quilts. At the November bee volunteers will find 37 kits ready to be sewn, 16 kit-kits waiting to be cut, a pile waiting to be quilted/tied and 2 quilts waiting for binding. Truly something for everyone. ~ ~ ~ Fundraising Raffle October's raffle items raised $65. We also receiced a total of $75 in cash donations. A BIG THANK YOU goes out to everyone who participated in the raffle and to Dawn F & Judy H for the monetary donations. The raffle items for November will include a special package of amazing grace products by philosophy. Philosophy has donated a box containing nine of their amazing grace products with a total retail value of $259. We will have the entire box on display and offering attendees the opportunity to purchase chances at $1 each. Only ONE ticket will be drawn allowing the winning ticket holder the privledge of picking ONE item of their choice from the box. These products are not to be confused with the philosophy bath/shower gels that have been featured in our raffles over the past few months.

TURKEY FACTS... ~ In the US, about 280 million turkeys are sold for Thanksgiving celebrations. ~ The average weight of a turkey purchased at Thanksgiving is 15 pounds. ~ The heaviest turkey ever raised was 86 pounds! ~ A 15 pound turkey usually has about 70% white meat and 30% dark meat. ~ Turkey has more protein than chicken or beef. ~ Turkeys will have 3,500 feathers at maturity. ~ It takes 75-80 pounds of feed to raise a 30 pound tom turkey. And the most interesting fact I found... ~ Turkeys have heart attacks! The United States Air Force was doing test runs and breaking the sound barrier. Nearby turkeys dropped dead with heart attacks. ~ ~ ~ Have you ever wondered.... Why do poeple constantly return to the refrigerator with hopes that something new to eat will have materialized? ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
