2009 BEE SCHEDULE...

The 2009 Peace By Piece Quilters Bee schedule has been set in writing with our gracious bee hosts, the Cutting Edge Quiltworks and 35th Ave Sew and Vac. The Peace By Piece Quilters bees held on Fridays are never as well attended as our Thursday bees. I don't know if that is

because it's a Friday or because it is typically only one week between the Friday bee and the Thursday bee. And people seem to get easily confused about the current 1st Friday, 4th Thursday schedule. So beginning in January 2009 we will no longer have a bee on Friday. Our new schedule will be the 1st Thursday at 35th Ave Sew & Vac and the 3rd Thursday at the Cutting Edge. This schedule will also alleviate the confusion and problems we have every year in November and December with scheduling our 4th Thursday bees around the Holidays.

MYSTERY PROJECT...

The Peace By Piece Quilters Mystery Project has started! The first clue was handed out at the Kit Bee last month and those who picked up their clue selected fabrics from the Peace By Piece Quilters stash closet. The second clue will be handed out at our bees this month. It's not too late to get in on this FUN Project! This is a quick and easy project with only 3 clues. If you haven't got your first clue yet they will be available at all future Peace By Piece Quilters bees until the end of the year.

DISCOUNTS EVERYWHERE !!!

Last month I told you about the Cutting Edge Quiltworks discount bags. This once a year bag  purchase of $6 saves you 10% on all purchases throughout the year. You must show your bag at the time of the purchase to qualify for the discount. The bags will be on sale until the last one is gone.

AND...

35th Ave Sew and Vac has a special discount offer just for Peace By Piece Quilter volunteers. Any fabric purchase volunteers make during the bee will receive a 15% discount!

Quilt shop owners are the best people.

THE CUTTING EDGE QUILTWORKS

The September bee at the Cutting Edge was cancelled due to the Maricopa County Annual Shop Hop. The most dedicated Peace By Piece Quilters spent that day at my home making kits to be sewn at future bees. They also shared a great lunch provided by volunteer Jo, along with lots of chocolate and FUN conversations.

 35th AVE. SEW AND VAC...

Several Peace By Piece Quilters were busy the first week of October getting those end of summer vacations taken. In fact, sooo many volunteers were traveling that only a few of us remained in the valley on bee day! There were a handful of us present including our World Traveling quilter, Bonnie. We haven't seen Bonnie in months! That day we made 6 child size quilts with 1 being Holiday themed. And 5 of our 7 Preemies were Holiday themed.

ANOTHER  WORLD TRAVELER...

Speaking of people we haven't seen in a long time... Dana may stop by our next Cutting Edge bee for a visit. Dana used to sew with us and even shared her homemade sweet treats with us. We enjoyed Dana and her sweet treats until she was ready for a change of scenery and moved to the mountains of Colorado. Dana has started a Travel Business, visit it at  www.mycompletetrip.com She's back in the desert for a visit this week and hopes to fit a visit with us on her schedule.
