September 2009

IT'S GONE !!!

According to the calendar summer is gone. September 22 marked the first 'official' day of Fall. Shortly after I moved here 11 years ago a neighbor, who happens to be an Arizona native, made the comment that' "Fall is in the air". My thought at that time was, "this woman is CRAZY cuz it's still freakin' hot!". Well, now I get it. It is still freakin' hot out... but not quite as hot as it was. Fall IS in the air!

FUN KITS...

This month the Peace By Piece kit suitcase has become overflowing! Linda, Bonnie, and Nina all showed up at a bee with kits! LOTS OF KITS. They had been some busy ladies. I know all of those kits are gunna make awesome quilts.

MORE KITS, UNPLANNED ???

Nina and I had planned a non bee day to play with the longarm and shorten the pile of tops waiting to be quilted. The BIG mistake I made was not making sure this activity was okay with the longarm. Now she is usually not a moody beast but on this particular day she was having no part of the activity. But we still had a productive day playing with fabric, just in a different way. We made kits. 20 of them!

 SPREADING THE FABRIC...

This month we sent a box of fabric to our quilting friends on the eastern side of our country. Those Project Linus gals will us their talents to make them into warm lovable quilts. One kind act has the potential to change a life forever.
